Does your house stink if you smoke hookah indoors?
It’s raining really hard outside! It’s too cold outside. The lounge is closed. It’s the end of the month and I’m pretty tight with my money, so going to a shisha lounge is going to be difficult. We have all been in one of the above situations.
So why not smoke shisha at home with friends? That may indeed be a good idea, but there are pros and cons.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Smoking Hookah Indoors
Many people think it is much cheaper to smoke a hookah at home. That of course depends on how often you smoke at home. Do you want to keep it once? Then you pay much more than what you will pay at a lounge. The cost of tobacco and charcoal is quite high if you keep it on a single session.
If you smoke at home, many have the option to smoke indoors or in the garden. If you smoke in the garden, you don’t have to worry about anything. The smoke does not linger in the open air. Do you want to smoke inside? Then I would think twice about that. Outside, my own experiences I have often been in a situation where smoking a shisha inside can be harmful.
Lighting the hookah coals
Let’s start lighting the coals. Lighting coals brings in a certain smell that is comparable to the beginning of a barbecue. This smell lingers. Of course, the smell is much less once the coals are all on. Our advice is of course to light coals outside. Unless you have a very good ventilation system in your house. The smell that is released when lighting the coals inside not only lingers, but can also give you a headache, which is of course not nice.
Smell of the water pipe that is released during use
When smoking a water pipe, odors are naturally released from the vaporized tobacco. So does the smell linger? That, of course, depends on a few factors. Let’s start with the room where you smoke shisha. If you smoke shisha in a small space, there is a very good chance that the smell will linger. With a large space, the chance is smaller. But of course this depends on what you smoke. Tobacco like double apple, apple mint, grape mint and love 66 have very strong scents. The more often you smoke such flavors indoors, the more likely it will linger and other people will be able to smell it.
Solutions
But of course there are solutions for this. Opening a window works wonders. It is also useful to turn on the kitchen ventilation. This also ensures that the smell does not linger strongly. Airing the room where a hookah session is held is very important. If you are in a closed room without windows or fresh air, it is expected that you will get a headache. You can also fight a smelly shisha room with incense. Anyway, it just makes sure there’s a different smell inside.
Conclusion
If you wonder why there is no smell in many shisha lounges, it is because it is mandatory for shisha lounges to have good air ventilation. The reason behind this is to remove the smoke in the lounge as much as possible. A lounge with a poor ventilation system often causes customers to feel nauseous or leave the lounge with a headache. And of course nobody wants that.
